Recycling

This was in the JRS, but I don’t know if everybody is subscribed to that.

2008 RENO-SPARKS FREE DRIVE-THRU RECYCLING PROJECT INFORMATION

Friday August 22 through Wednesday September 3 (Keystone location
operating through Sept. 6)

Once again this year, you can find FREE DRIVE-THRU recycling at five
Reno locations! Open 24 Hours!

All you have to do is drive into the parking lot, and deposit your

recyclables as clean as possible.

New for '08, garbage disposal will additionally be available for
recyclers at approximately $3 per standard 35-gallon trash bag.

Yard Sale Success

$585!!! Aw yeah!  We have paid for food for the week.

We will likely do this again July 26th at Mindy’s mom’s house. We especially need help setting up and breaking down. Clothes sold fairly well. Clean out your closests!

In an unrelated note, I tried to update the Backpack page. Seems to have worked, if you want to check the updated itinerary. At 16+ campers, we need to make sure everyone and their stuff is accounted for to and from the Playa.

The next yard sale will include these lovely items:

Meeting Notes – 14 June

I’m posting the meeting notes here for safekeeping.

There are also some consolidated updates at the end so we’re all on the same page come the next meeting.

because everyone needs two RVs

Pricing Flagpoles

Ok, apparently telescoping flagpoles are not cheap.

See:
Telescoping flag pole options at Flag and Banner and eBay, and a neat flag that we could surely make more cheaply ourselves.

Personally, I kind of like the looks of the goods at this site: http://flagpolebuddy.com/, though I wish we could get one used to avoid paying $100+ (although this includes a complete mounting kit and S&H).  This company was recommended on RV.Net There is video of the flagpole withstanding high desert winds.  AND they have large solar-powered lighted globes you can stick on top.  Think there might be a burner discount?  hmmmmm….

5/26 Meeting Notes, Vehicle Rented, Flight Booked, Surprise?

Meeting Notes
I kinda hate digging through email, so I am adding a link to Weaver’s lovely notes for the May 26 meeting, along with Bort’s important responses. For those of you not in attendance, we have proven worthy of technology by hooking up the west coast, ‘Coney, and our house in NoVa via Skype and a collaboration tool called Adobe Connect. We rule. Also, we’ll likely do this at least once more before launch in August.

Vehicle Rented, Flights Booked
Herb and I have rented an SUV (Jeep Grand Cherokee or equivalent) from Sunday August 24 to Tuesday September 2. This means we can haul people and stuff, run errands, and help the RVs park away from the hotels if the lots are full. Oh yeah, and if you are flying and arrive and leave around the same time as us, we can take you to and from the airport (there are free airport shuttles if not). Total cost $408 for the week. We are flying BWI to Reno on Sunday, arriving in Reno around noon, and leaving Reno on Tuesday around 9:00 am.

Surprise?
Maybe, just maybe we’ll get our one camp enhancement that happens to be human? Details to come…
